ONiA (Orthodontic Network in Adelaide) is a specialist orthodontist practice in South Australia. They needed a new website that emphasised professionalism and expertise and offered an outstanding user experience.

We realised A fun and friendly new website would help allay any fears of orthodontic treatment among the target audience and instil confidence in patients long before the first appointment.

A fresh perspective for orthodontic websites

Though the practice treats patients of all ages, the new look and feel needed to appeal to young children, while also displaying markers of credibility and quality for adult decision makers.

Discovering a new brand voice

Conscientious patient care and high-quality customer service set ONiA apart from the competition. To convey warmth and friendliness, we drew design inspiration from children’s fashion, sophisticated boutique interiors, and the network’s own office outfit.

Originally, we began with muted tones to signal credibility and show a connection to the sleek interiors of ONiA clinics. However, even with the cheery illustrations, we found these colours strayed too far from the atmosphere we wanted to create.

The next iteration — a brighter, more youthful colour scheme — better emphasises the point of difference, elevating the impact of ONiA’s brand above that of its competitors.

Custom artwork and original brand motifs

The design uses original illustrations, custom icons, visual devices and a suite of hand-drawn characters, all aimed at adding positivity and happiness to the brand personality.

These form the foundation of ONiA’s new face online.
